Hey everyone, I’ve recently come across these Weconn Smart Plugs and decided to give them a try. They’re pretty affordable and seem to have a decent feature set, but I’m running into some issues trying to integrate them into my OpenHAB setup.
I’ve got OpenHAB up and running, and these plugs were given to me as a gift. At first glance, they seem straightforward—just plug them in and control them via the app. But I really want to incorporate them into my existing smart home ecosystem. I’ve checked out the Alexa app that comes with them, but it’s pretty basic and doesn’t offer the kind of customization I’m used to with OpenHAB.
I did a bit of research and found that these plugs might be using the Edimax protocol. I tried running a script I found online to test this out, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. I’m not very experienced with reverse engineering connections, so I’m hoping someone here has already figured this out or has some tips to share.
I also noticed that these plugs are sold under different names like Jinvoo or M.Way, which makes me think they’re pretty common. It would be awesome if there was a binding available for OpenHAB since these are so easy to find and budget-friendly.
If anyone has successfully integrated these plugs or has any advice on how to proceed, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for your help.
Edit: I just wanted to add that I discovered the plugs are indeed the same as Jinvoo and M.Way. Finding a binding would be fantastic since they’re so accessible and affordable. Fingers crossed someone has a solution!
