Integrating Wyze Cam V3 with X10 Switches for Outdoor Lighting Control

I’m really excited about the potential of using Wyze Cam V3 to control my outdoor lights, especially since they’re currently on X10 switches. I don’t have any Wyze products yet, but I’m eager to explore this setup. I’ve heard great things about Wyze cameras and their integration capabilities, but I’m a bit puzzled about how to connect them with my existing X10 system.

From what I understand, the Wyze Cam should be able to interface with IFTTT, which could then send commands to my X10 switches. However, I’m not entirely sure how to set this up. I’ve looked at the Wyze Switch page, but it seems like they don’t offer 3-way or 4-way dimmer switches, which I currently use for my porch and garage lights. This makes me wonder if I need to replace my existing switches with smart ones or if there’s a workaround.

I’ve also come across some forum discussions where users have successfully integrated Wyze devices with X10 systems using third-party automation services like IFTTT or even custom scripts. This gives me hope that it’s possible, but I’m still a bit overwhelmed by the technical details. I’m curious if anyone has experience with this specific setup and could share their insights or step-by-step guides.

One thing I’m particularly interested in is how to handle the dimming functionality since my current X10 switches are 3-way and 4-way dimmers. I don’t want to lose that capability when switching to a smart system. Maybe there’s a way to configure the Wyze Cam or the IFTTT applets to mimic the dimming behavior? I’m also wondering if there are any potential issues with signal interference or latency when using X10 with Wyze devices.

I’m really looking forward to hearing from the community on this. If someone has successfully done this, I’d love to know what tools or apps they used, any challenges they faced, and how they overcame them. It would be fantastic to have a reliable outdoor lighting system that I can control remotely or through voice commands, and I’m hopeful that Wyze Cam V3 can make this a reality for me. Thanks in advance for any advice or tips you can share!
