Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent project and get your thoughts on it! I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my home security using Wyze Floodlights and motion sensors. The goal is to create a system that turns on the floodlights when motion is detected, but also automatically turns them off after a set period to save energy.
I’ve successfully paired my Wyze Floodlights with motion sensors, and they work like a charm when triggered manually. However, I’m struggling with setting up an automatic shutdown feature. I’ve tried using IFTTT and some built-in routines, but nothing seems to stick. Does anyone have experience with setting up timers for lights or suggestions on how to make this work seamlessly?
Another thing I’m curious about is whether it’s possible to randomize the activation of the floodlights. I’ve heard this can be a great deterrent for burglars since it makes the house appear occupied even when no one is home. If I could combine this with the motion sensor, it would be the perfect setup!
I’d love to hear your strategies for integrating motion sensors with outdoor lighting. Any tips, tricks, or app recommendations would be incredibly helpful. Let’s brainstorm together and make our homes safer and smarter! Thanks in advance for your insights!
