Integrating Wyze Palm Lock with Face Recognition Automation

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my recent experience with the Wyze Palm Lock and how I’m trying to integrate it with my existing smart home setup. I’ve been really impressed with the convenience and security it offers, especially with its palm recognition feature. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag while trying to set up an automation rule based on face recognition from my Wyze Video Doorbell V2.

So, here’s the setup: I’ve got the Wyze Palm Lock installed on my front door, and I’ve been using the Wyze Video Doorbell V2 for a while now. The doorbell has face recognition enabled, and it does a great job of recognizing my face and sending notifications to my phone. My goal was to create an automation rule where, when the doorbell detects my face, it automatically unlocks the deadbolt. That way, as soon as I’m detected at the door, I can just walk in without fumbling for my keys or palm.

I followed the Wyze app’s instructions to set up the automation, but I’m running into an issue where I can’t find a face recognition trigger in the automation settings. The doorbell does recognize my face and notify me, but it doesn’t seem to offer an option to trigger actions based on that recognition. I’ve checked all the settings and even reached out to Wyze support, but I’m still not quite sure how to proceed. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround? I’d love to hear your thoughts or any tips you might have!

On a positive note, the Wyze Palm Lock itself has been a game-changer. It’s incredibly responsive and reliable, and the fact that it works seamlessly with my existing Wyze ecosystem is a huge plus. I’m just really hoping to get that face recognition automation working so I can fully integrate it into my smart home routine. Fingers crossed!

Thanks in advance for any advice or insights you can share. I’m really excited about the possibilities here and can’t wait to see how this setup evolves!
