I recently integrated Xiaomi Aqara wall switches into my smart home setup, and it has been a fantastic experience! 
The process was a bit challenging at first, but I managed to add them to my Home Assistant (Hassio) setup by following a few steps. Here’s how I did it:

Repository Addition: I found that adding the
xiaomi_aqararepository was crucial. Initially, I tried using a direct link, but it didn’t work. After some research, I realized that enabling the correct repository in Hassio was the key. This allowed me to access all the necessary integrations for the switches. -
Power Consumption Monitoring: One of my main goals was to monitor the wattage readings of my devices. I discovered that by setting up the switches correctly, I could track energy consumption in real-time. This has been incredibly helpful for optimizing my home’s energy usage.

Custom Automation: I created a custom automation that adjusts the brightness of my lights based on the time of day. For instance, during the day, the lights dim slightly to save energy, while at night, they brighten to ensure the space is well-lit. This has made my home both efficient and comfortable.

User Experience: The Xiaomi Aqara switches are incredibly responsive and user-friendly. They integrate seamlessly with my existing smart devices, and the fact that they support Zigbee makes them a versatile addition to my setup.
