Integrating Z-Wave Buttons with Qolsys Panel
I’ve been curious about using a Z-Wave wall switch to control scenes on my Qolsys panel. Specifically, I’d love to have a physical button in my garage that triggers an “Away” scene, turning off all the lights and arming the system. Has anyone successfully integrated a Z-Wave button with their Qolsys setup? I’m particularly interested in how the pairing process works and if there are any gotchas to watch out for.
Installing the Tado Binding
On a different note, I recently installed the Tado binding in my OpenHAB setup and wanted to share the steps in case it helps someone else. Here’s what I did:
- Add-On Installation: I navigated to the PaperUI Add-Ons section and searched for the Tado binding. It wasn’t immediately visible, so I had to enable the experimental add-ons repository.
- Configuration: Once installed, I set up my Tado credentials in the configuration file. It was a bit tricky figuring out the right format, but the community docs were super helpful.
- Testing: After saving the config, I restarted the OpenHAB service and was thrilled to see all my Tado devices appear in the inbox!
