I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! I’ve been using ISY with Insteon for several years now, but as my devices started to age and fail, I decided it was time to try something new—Z-Wave.
I installed the Z-Wave Daughter card in my ISY and was pleasantly surprised by how seamless the process was. Adding my first Z-Wave device, a GE Z-Wave Plus paddle switch, took only a few minutes. To my delight, it worked perfectly on the first try! I installed a second switch, and the experience was just as smooth.
I’ve heard that adding Insteon devices can sometimes be a bit tricky, but with Z-Wave, it’s been a breeze. The setup process was straightforward, and the devices paired quickly without any hiccups. I’m really impressed with how easy it was to integrate these switches into my existing setup.
