Integrating Zigbee Devices and Solving MQTT Button Issues

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice. I’ve been trying to set up a few Zigbee devices in my home, including some motion sensors and a thermostat, but I’m running into a few challenges. Let me walk you through what I’ve done so far and where I’m stuck.

First, I’ve been working with a Conbee II Zigbee hub. I’ve managed to pair most of my devices successfully, but I’m having trouble with a few specific sensors. I’ve tried resetting them and re-pairing them, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any tips for troubleshooting this? I’m starting to wonder if it’s a hardware issue or if there’s something I’m missing in the configuration.

Another issue I’ve encountered is with my MQTT buttons. I’ve set up a DIY pill dispenser that uses MQTT commands to dispense different medications, and I want to control it through my Home Assistant dashboard. I’ve configured the buttons in my MQTT settings, but I’m only getting one available entity for each button, and the others are showing as unavailable. I’m not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. Has anyone else experienced this issue with MQTT buttons?

On a more positive note, I’ve had some success with my thermostat setup. I’ve been using the OpenTherm protocol to integrate my modulating furnace with domestic hot water heating, and it’s been working smoothly. I’d love to hear from others who have experience with similar setups and any tips they might have for optimizing performance.

If anyone has advice on these issues, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’m really enjoying the process of building out my smart home, but these hurdles are a bit frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help or insights you can provide!

Cheers,
