I recently embarked on a journey to integrate various Zigbee devices into my Homey Pro setup, and I must say, it’s been a delightful experience! 
Starting with the VeraMobile for iOS v.3.38 update, I was thrilled to discover the enhanced scene creation capabilities, especially the use of AND, OR, NOT logical operators. This has allowed me to create more dynamic and personalized automation scenarios, which has really elevated my smart home experience. The ability to set house modes like home/away/night/vacation directly through scenes has added a layer of convenience I hadn’t anticipated.
However, the journey wasn’t without its bumps. I encountered a few hiccups while trying to connect a Popp outdoor switch to my Homey Pro. After some research and reaching out to the community, I found that resetting the device and ensuring a stable network connection resolved the issue. It was a minor setback, but the support from this community was invaluable!
One of the highlights of my setup has been incorporating the Moes (Tuya) Matter ZigBee Gateway. Although there were some initial challenges with pairing non-Tuya devices, the gateway proved to be a reliable bridge between my Zigbee ecosystem and SmartThings. The firmware updates have been seamless, and the support from the community has been fantastic. I particularly appreciated the tip about rebooting the SmartThings hub to ensure all devices are recognized properly.
For those looking to expand their Zigbee setup, I highly recommend exploring devices like the Sengled Element Classic bulb and the Avatto 2 gang in-wall relay. These devices integrate smoothly with Homey and offer excellent functionality. Additionally, the Shelly Plus 1PM has been a game-changer for managing my 230V appliances efficiently.
A word of caution: if you’re integrating devices from multiple brands, ensure they are compatible with your hub and have the latest firmware updates. This can save you a lot of troubleshooting time down the line.
