Hi everyone! I’ve been really enjoying setting up my smart home with a mix of Tuya and Alexa devices. It’s been a fascinating journey learning how to integrate different brands and protocols, especially with Zigbee. I recently got some Aquara door and window sensors, and I’m thrilled to see how seamlessly they work with my existing setup. However, I stumbled upon a little hiccup that I’d love to get your thoughts on.
I’ve been using a Tuya Zigbee gateway along with my Alexa devices to manage all my Zigbee sensors. So far, everything has been running smoothly—lights, switches, and even some smart plugs are all working together. But when I tried adding these new Aquara sensors, they just wouldn’t pair up. I’ve tried both the Alexa app and the Tuya gateway, but no luck. I’m wondering if I need a dedicated Aquara gateway or if there’s a workaround to get them working with my current setup. Zigbee should, in theory, allow for this kind of interoperability, so I’m a bit puzzled!
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully integrated Aquara sensors with Tuya or Alexa. Are there any specific settings or configurations I might be missing? I’m really hoping to avoid buying another gateway if possible, but I’m also open to suggestions if that’s the best route. Thanks in advance for your insights—I’m eager to learn and get these sensors up and running! ![]()
