Hey , just wanted to jump in and share how I’ve been using Aqara gear with Apple HomeKit — the combo absolutely rocks. I’m still tinkering, but figured my setup might help some of you or spark ideas.
So far, I’ve got the Aqara M2 hub running as the brains. Paired it with a couple of door/window sensors, a motion sensor, and some of the older Aqara bulbs. Integrated everything into HomeKit and mapped out a few automations that now feel like magic.
One of my faves: front door opens after 6pm → hallway light turns on + Siri announces “Welcome home”. Sounds simple, but it adds crazy personality to the place.
Took a bit to juggle all the connections — especially getting the hub recognized in HomeKit. Pro tip: make sure your phone is on the same WiFi band (2.4GHz), and don’t rush the pairing, HomeKit is… picky.
Another win: using Aqara motion sensor with HomeKit to trigger my air purifier when I walk into my office. No third-party apps, just clean and quick automation.
Anyone else playing around with more complex scenes or triggers using both platforms? Would love to hear what’s working for you all!
