Iris Garage Door Controller Monthly Disconnects: Seeking Solutions

I’ve been using the Iris garage door controller with SmartThings for almost a year now, and it’s been a reliable addition to my smart home setup. However, about nine months after installation, I started experiencing monthly disconnects from the hub. This is particularly frustrating when we’re away from home, as it leaves the garage door in an unreliable state.

The issue manifests when the controller disconnects, reports an inaccurate status, and becomes inoperable. The only workaround I’ve found so far is to unplug it for about ten seconds, which resets it and brings it back online. While this temporary fix works, it’s far from ideal, especially when we’re not around to address the issue promptly.

I’m curious if others have encountered similar problems with their Iris controllers or other garage door systems. Have you found a more permanent solution or a way to prevent these monthly disconnects? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

I’m also wondering if there’s a pattern or specific condition that triggers these disconnects. For instance, does it happen during certain weather conditions or when the hub is under heavy load? Understanding the root cause could help in finding a more effective solution.

If anyone has successfully resolved this issue, I’d love to hear about your experience and the steps you took. Your advice could help me avoid frequent resets and ensure my garage door remains a seamless part of my smart home system. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer!
