One of the integrations I’ve found particularly useful is the Jewish calendar, which adds a layer of cultural relevance to my smart home setup. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag and I’m hoping the community can help me out!
I’ve set up the Jewish calendar integration and noticed it creates several sensor entities. Specifically, I’m interested in the sensor.jewish_calendar_parshat_hashavua entity, which tracks the weekly Torah portion. My goal is to have this sensor announce its state every Friday at 10 AM. I’ve tried a few approaches but haven’t quite nailed it down yet. If anyone has experience with using the play media action for sensor announcements, I’d love to hear your tips!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with automations that tie into the Jewish calendar. For instance, dimming the lights and playing soft music during Shabbat has added a serene touch to our evenings. It’s amazing how technology can enhance traditions in such meaningful ways.
