Just upgraded from U100 to U400 and found less automation options?

I have had the U100 for a long time and absolutely loved it. It was by far the best lock I have used. So when the U400 was announced with UWB I decided to go ahead and upgrade. I just installed it this wknd along with the M200 and T3 bulb. I first setup the M200 and then the T2 bulb. I wanted to test the automations so with the U100 I created a automation that when I unlock from the outside the bulb would turn on the light. This automation worked great and I was pleasantly surprised to find so many options of triggers (20 of them) that I can use with the U100. SO I upgrade to the U400 and get it installed and upgrade the firmware to the latest (of the hub and U400) and go to change my automation to use the U400 trigers and find there are only 3 triggers for the door lock. Why are there less triggers on a newer product. I would think that there should be the same if not more options for the U400 vs the U100. Am I missing something? Is there a way to add more of the triggers to the U400 that the U100 has?

Hi, I don’t have these locks.
My opinion is that these are different locks Zigbee (U100) and Thread (U400) and there are different automation conditions associated with this.

Did this exact comparison on my own locks — my U100 (Zigbee) shows about 20 different trigger options in the Aqara app: broken out by unlock method (password, NFC card, fingerprint, Bluetooth, Alexa, Google Home), Away Mode on/off, door-not-locked alerts, failed-login alerts, stuff like that. My U400 (Matter/Thread) only gives me 6: bolt abnormality, locked, unlocked, and three battery states. Nothing broken out by how it was unlocked, no Away Mode, no alerts.

Matter (the smart-home standard the U400 uses to talk to Apple/Google/etc.) only defines a pretty bare-bones set of lock states out of the box — basically locked/unlocked/jammed. That’s likely why the list is so short. But here’s the interesting part: my U100 can also be reached over Matter, and it still shows all 20 options in the Aqara app. So it’s not that using Matter kills the extra triggers — it’s more that Aqara hasn’t built out the same detailed trigger list for their newer Matter-based locks yet that they already have for their Zigbee ones. Nothing says they couldn’t add it later, they just haven’t for the U400 so far. Might be worth sending Aqara direct feedback asking for it — doesn’t seem like something wrong on your end.

+1 for the desperate need to add more automations. At minimum and needed immediately is the automation that tells you which user unlocked the door. As a Lawyer that’s a safety & liability issue that could present a lawsuit for Aqara if not rectified in the very near future via an app / firmware update.

Lawsuit for what?no one forced you to buy that lock and if you do I think depending from were you buy it you have 30 days to return it not so sure why do you come here and speak about lawsuit.this forum is for support and helping if you want more support and more options contact aqara support and see what they tells you.
