Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to the community for some troubleshooting advice regarding my Kasa smart plug. I’ve been using it for quite some time now, and it’s been a reliable addition to my home automation setup. However, I’ve encountered an issue that I can’t seem to resolve on my own, and I’m hoping someone here might have some insights or solutions.
The problem I’m facing is with the scheduling feature of my Kasa HS103 smart plug. I’ve set up a weekly event to turn off my router for 5 minutes and then back on again. This setup has been working perfectly for a long time, and I’ve relied on it to maintain stability in my network. However, recently, I noticed that the scheduled events weren’t triggering as expected. While shorter events, like those scheduled for 5 minutes later, still work without a hitch, longer intervals, such as those set for 50 minutes, seem to be ignored entirely.
I’ve done some testing to narrow down the issue. I’ve tried scheduling events at different times, both on and off, and manually turning the plug off and on. It appears that the issue isn’t isolated to a specific time or action but rather to the duration of the scheduled event. Shorter intervals work fine, but anything beyond a certain point doesn’t seem to register. I’m curious if this is a known behavior or if there might be a setting I’m missing that could resolve this inconsistency.
I’m hoping to find a way to make this setup more reliable, as it’s an essential part of my routine. Whether it’s restarting my router or ensuring other devices function properly, having consistent scheduling is crucial. I’m open to any suggestions, whether it’s adjusting the settings, checking for firmware updates, or even alternative methods to achieve the same result.
If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any tips on how to troubleshoot this further, I’d be greatly appreciative. Let’s see if we can figure this out together!
Thanks in advance for your help and insights!
