Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to figure out how to set up my Kwikset deadbolts to stay unlocked while the door is open. Right now, I have them set to lock automatically after 30 seconds, but I’ve noticed that when I slam the door without remembering to keep the lock open, the bolt slams against the door frame. It’s a bit jarring and I’d like to avoid that.
What I’d love is for the lock to stay open as long as the door is open and then lock 30 seconds after closing. I’ve been looking into how to set this up using my Vera3 system with the door sensor and lock, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure the actions properly.
Has anyone else tackled a similar setup? Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated! I’m really hoping to find a smooth solution that keeps things safe and prevents those annoying slamming noises. Thanks in advance for any help!
