KeyMatic Battery Replacement and Power Supply Solutions

I’ve been using KeyMatic locks for quite some time now, and while they work perfectly with my CCU setup, there’s one thing that’s been bugging me—battery replacements. Every three months, I have to swap out the batteries, and to be honest, it’s a bit of a hassle. Plus, as the batteries start to drain, the second locking mechanism doesn’t work as smoothly as it used to. It’s frustrating to see that little yellow light on the CCU indicating communication issues or an unknown status. Once I put in fresh batteries, everything works like a charm again, but the cycle just keeps repeating.

I’ve heard from some users that they’ve managed to connect their KeyMatic locks directly to a DC power supply, avoiding the battery issue altogether. That sounds like a great solution, but I’m not sure how feasible it is. The idea of running wires to the door lock seems a bit intrusive, and I definitely don’t want to compromise the aesthetics of my home. I wonder if there’s a discreet way to install a power supply without making it look too messy.

Has anyone successfully done this? I’d love to hear about your experiences, any tips, or even pictures of your setup. Maybe there’s a clever way to hide the wiring or use a different power source. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Let’s brainstorm together and find a solution that keeps the KeyMatic running smoothly without the hassle of frequent battery changes.
