KNX Status Configuration and Remote Control Integration

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experience with integrating KNX and remote controls into my smart home system. It’s been quite a journey, but I’ve learned a lot along the way!

First, I wanted to set up a corridor lighting system using KNX. I have two lights in the corridor, each with their own actors (Actor1 and Actor2), and a combined actor (Actor1+2) for both. The challenge was configuring the status for the combined actor. After some research, I realized that the solution might involve using KNX group addresses to link the statuses of both actors. I tried something like 1/0/3+<1/2/1 & 1/2/2, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s the best approach. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

On another note, I’ve been trying to integrate a remote control for my Zigbee light strip. The light strip doesn’t have any buttons, so I need a remote that can control it via OpenHAB. I came across the Osram Lightify 4-button remote, but it seems like it’s not fully compatible with OpenHAB yet. Does anyone have any suggestions or alternative remotes that work well with OpenHAB?

Lastly, I wanted to share my success with Fibaro compatibility. I recently upgraded my SmartThings hub and was worried about whether it would work with my existing Fibaro Z-Wave modules. After some testing, I’m happy to report that everything is working perfectly! The Fibaro dimmer modules are fully compatible, and the integration with SmartThings is seamless.

Overall, this project has been a great learning experience. I’m looking forward to exploring more smart home features and sharing my progress with the community. If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to reach out!
