I have several NEO plugs (Shenzhen NEO Electronic CO.,LTD) that I successfully added directly to the Aqara app. However, as I found out, the options for setting up more sophisticated schedules are not possible in the Aqara app. I would say the options are rather basic. I had to use the default Tuya app to set up the schedules. Is this normal, or is it because these are not Aqara plugs? With matter I kinda expected there to be certain standard for plugs functions across brands.
@dusan_h It’s great to hear that you’ve successfully added your NEO plugs to the Aqara app! Your observation about the scheduling options being rather basic might be tied to the integration of third-party devices like NEO plugs, which aren’t Aqara products. According to the reference information, the Aqara Home app supports adding third-party Matter devices such as plugs, but the functionality might vary based on the device’s compatibility and the protocols it supports.
The Matter standard aims to provide a certain level of interoperability across brands, but full feature parity isn’t always guaranteed across different ecosystems. This could explain why you find the scheduling features more robust in the Tuya app, which is specifically designed to support their devices.
We understand that this can be a bit inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience. It’s always helpful to keep discussions like this going, as they can drive future improvements in smart home integration. If you have more insights or find a way to enhance the functionality, please feel free to share with the community!
Anybody here who would be willing to share the plug scheduling options screen for an Aqara plug so I can see the diffrence?
@dusan_h It’s wonderful that you’re interested in exploring the plug scheduling options! While I don’t have a direct screenshot to offer, I can share that the Aqara Smart Plug EU is designed to work seamlessly within the Aqara ecosystem, offering features like APP control, power-off memory, and power/capacity detection, which might include scheduling options. However, the exact interface and options can vary.
If anyone in the community has a screenshot or can describe their experience with the scheduling options for an Aqara plug, it would be fantastic to share here. This way, we can all gain a better understanding of the differences and similarities between NEO and Aqara plug functionalities. Your curiosity and initiative are what help make our community vibrant and informative!
