Hey everyone, I’d love to share a project I’ve been working on with my LaMetric device. It’s been a fantastic way to keep track of my solar energy production and household energy usage in real-time! ![]()

I’ve set up my LaMetric display to show various metrics from my solar photovoltaic system, including exported energy, current production power, and even the Nord Pool energy spot price. It’s been a great way to stay informed about my energy consumption and production patterns throughout the day. ![]()
To achieve this, I used Python scripting with the openHAB Helper Libraries. While it took some time to get everything working smoothly, the result has been well worth the effort. I’ve included a brief overview of my setup below in case anyone is interested in trying something similar:
- Energy Production Tracking: Displays the total energy exported and current production power in real-time.
- Household Consumption: Shows the current power usage within my home.
- Grid Export: Tracks the amount of energy being exported back to the grid.
- Nord Pool Spot Price: Provides updates on the current hour’s energy price in SEK.
- Hourly Price Graph: Offers a visual representation of the hourly energy prices for the day.
If anyone is curious about the Python script or has any questions about the setup, feel free to ask! I’d be happy to share more details or troubleshoot any issues others might encounter. ![]()
I’d also love to hear about other creative ways people are using their LaMetric devices around the house. Let’s share some inspiration! ![]()
