Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience pairing the LeakSmart water sensor with my Conbee II stick and deCONZ. At first, I was a bit frustrated because the process wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped, but I figured it out! Here’s what worked for me:
-
Preparation: Make sure the sensor has fresh batteries. I found that the sensor needs to be in a specific mode to pair. This usually involves pressing the button until it starts flashing rapidly.
-
Starting the Pairing: Open deCONZ, navigate to Sensors, and select Add New Sensor. Choose the ‘Other’ option since LeakSmart isn’t listed explicitly.
-
Button Press: Press and hold the black button on the LeakSmart sensor. You’ll notice the LED starts flashing more rapidly, indicating it’s ready to pair.
-
Waiting: This was the tricky part. I had to wait about 30 seconds. I could hear three beeps, and the sensor’s LED switched to a slower, consistent flash. That’s when I knew it was successful!
-
Confirmation: After another minute or so, the sensor showed up in deCONZ. It was a relief!
-
Troubleshooting: If it doesn’t work the first time, try pressing the button again. If that doesn’t help, reset the sensor by removing the battery, reinstalling it, and following the steps again. Sometimes it just needs a fresh start!
This process saved me from a lot of frustration, and I’m really happy with how the sensor is working now. It’s a great addition to my home automation setup!
If anyone else is struggling with pairing, I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions!
