Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent project of installing an LED stripe on my terrace. It’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or tips!
I’ve always wanted to create a cozy outdoor space, and LED lighting seemed like the perfect way to achieve that. After some research, I settled on an LED stripe that could be integrated into an aluminum channel with a cover. The goal was to have it seamlessly blend into the terrace while still being fully controllable through my Home Assistant setup.
Here’s what I did:

Planning the Layout: I measured the area carefully and decided on the placement of the LED stripe. It was important to ensure it wouldn’t obstruct any pathways or furniture.

Integration with Home Assistant: I used the HA integration to set up the LED stripe as a light entity. This allowed me to control it via voice commands, automations, and even adjust the color temperature and brightness.

Color Coordination: I experimented with different color settings to match the ambiance of my terrace. It’s amazing how a simple color change can completely transform the space!

Weatherproofing: Since it’s an outdoor installation, I made sure to seal all connections properly to protect against moisture and weather conditions.
