Do I need to establish a new geofence for each location based automation? Does this mean I need a coming and going automation to trigger both behaviors?
This mean everyone in the house needs 2 automations for home/away?
I have to be missing something. Universally saved home address that I can reference as home by all automations?
@GH05TB34RD You don’t necessarily need to create a new geofence for each location-based automation—once a geofence is set, it can be referenced by multiple automations. Currently, a maximum of 10 geofences can be created in a Home.
For triggering “coming and going” behaviors, you’ll typically need separate automations: one for “arriving at the location” and another for “leaving the location” (e.g., setting “Reach a location” to trigger homecoming scenes and “Leave a location” for leaving-home scenes).
Regarding family members: In Automation 1.0, geofencing automation can only be triggered by the mobile phone that created it. So if family members use different phones, each would need to set up the same automation separately. However, if you upgrade to Geofence 2.0 (via Aqara Home app > Profile > Automation 2.0), it supports selecting other mobile terminals under the same home. You can then determine triggers based on the status of multiple terminals (e.g., “first to enter” or “last to leave”), which may reduce the need for everyone to set up separate automations.
As for a “universal saved home address,” you can set the geofence location to your home address directly. This geofence can then be referenced by all relevant automations, serving as a unified home location reference.
