Linkind GU10 Bulbs and SmartThings Group Status Issue

As a newcomer to the world of home automation, I’ve been diving headfirst into setting up my smart home ecosystem. Recently, I purchased a few Linkind GU10 bulbs, which are Zigbee-enabled, and added them to my living room and kitchen groups in the SmartThings app. While the bulbs themselves work perfectly, I’ve encountered an intriguing issue that I’m hoping the community can shed some light on.

The problem arises when I manually turn off the lights using my existing dumb switches. Despite the physical state of the lights being off, the SmartThings app stubbornly displays the group status as ON. This discrepancy isn’t just a minor inconvenience—it’s a bit perplexing and slightly frustrating when trying to rely on accurate group statuses for automations and routines.

I’ve scoured the forums and documentation to find a solution, and while there doesn’t seem to be a straightforward fix, I’ve come across a few potential workarounds. One suggestion was to ensure that all Zigbee devices are properly synchronized and that their firmware is up to date. Another approach involved tinkering with the group configurations within the SmartThings app, though I must admit, this feels a bit like trial and error.

For now, I’ve resorted to manually updating the group status within the app whenever I switch off the lights physically. It’s not the most elegant solution, but it gets the job done while I continue to research a more permanent fix. I’m hopeful that with some persistence and the collective wisdom of this community, I’ll be able to resolve this issue and have my smart home running smoothly.

If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any insights or additional suggestions, I’d be thrilled to hear from you! Let’s continue to learn and grow together in this exciting journey of home automation.
