My U200 has been faultless for over a year. Always reliable and works well.
HOWEVER, in the last week or so the lock has been turning the wrong way. When trying to open the lock, it closes it and gets jammed. I’ve set the lock type back to UK (it changed itself weirdly to EU) and also tried manual and automatic calibration.
It’s still acting up. Anyone else experiencing this?
@robsug I’m sorry to hear that your U200 lock is having this issue. It’s strange that it’s been working well for over a year and then suddenly started acting up.
Here are some additional steps you can try based on our knowledge base:
Check Mounting Screws: Make sure that the mounting screws are not too loose or too tight, as this can affect the lock’s operation. Loose or tight screws might cause the mechanism to not function properly and lead to the problem you’re experiencing .
Update Firmware: Update the door lock firmware to the latest version. Sometimes, firmware updates can fix various bugs and glitches that cause unexpected behavior. You can go to profile > firmware update in the app, enable beta updates, and upgrade the device to the latest version. Then try calibrating and testing it again .
Re - check Installation: Kindly check if the door lock is installed correctly following the installation video. An improper installation could potentially cause the lock to jam or operate in the wrong direction .
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be a good idea to reach out to customer support through the Aqara Home App. They can provide more in - depth assistance.
I hope this helps! Let’s see if others in the community have had similar experiences and might have more insights to share.
@robsug Sorry to hear your U200 has been acting up lately—let’s try to figure this out! Since you’ve already adjusted the lock type and tried calibration, here are some additional steps to check based on common troubleshooting for calibration and jamming issues:
First, double-check the mounting screws—if they’re too tight or loose, it can affect the lock’s movement (content_id:2, content_id:3). Also, ensure the lock is installed correctly with no misalignment, as that might cause it to turn the wrong way (content_id:1).
Next, confirm the firmware is updated to the latest version (ideally above V76). You can enable beta updates in the app (Profile > Firmware Update) to ensure you have the newest version, which might resolve unexpected behavior (content_id:0, content_id:3).
If the back panel moves when opening, try using the EVA foam included in the box to secure it—this can help stabilize the lock’s operation (content_id:1).
One more trick: during manual calibration, when you’re at the final half-turn, gently block the lock to prevent it from turning further. Some users have had success with this method (content_id:0).
Have you noticed if the jamming happens more when the door is fully closed or slightly ajar? Sharing that might help others chime in too. If these steps don’t work, reaching out to customer support through the Aqara Home App could be the next best move.
Hope this gets your lock back to its reliable self—let us know how it goes!
