M3 Network-500 error

I am having issues setting up an FP2 Presence Sensor to an M3 Hub. When I try to communicate with the Presence Sensor, I always get a Network-500 error. It never senses my presense. The light sensor seems to be working fine. I have the hub wired into an ASUS router.

Hello, I also have a problem opening the application. I get the message “network error. Please try again (network - 500)”

@avram_bv You seem to be experiencing an issue with a network error (network - 500) when opening the Aqara Home app. You can contact customer support for assistance. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.

Hey guys. Maybe you have VPN turned on.

A 500 error could be a lot of things, but most likely tied to network discovery. Try restarting everything - the network, hub, Fp2, and your phone.

The light sensor still reporting change is odd, admittedly.

I can’t help you troubleshoot your network, but if a full restart doesn’t fix it, you should look for settings in the network tied to client steering, multicast, and firewall which could impact the reliable connection of the FP2.

@avram_bv It looks like you don’t have weather information.

Did you already check the System Permission setting?

Well, I tried everything. No luck. Rebooted the router and hub several times making the suggested settings, but still had the error. Went to bed. The next morning, the error stopped.

Odd thing is, I was already looking at the Aeotec hub, after looking at what it would take to get a Samsung hub (and finding out Samsung is getting out of the Smartthings hardware, and more parts would be needed), it made sense. I will see how well Aqara zigbee devices work with the Aeotec hub.

From a troubleshooting perspective, I wouldn’t jump to replacing the hub as it doesn’t seem that the hub was your issue. I would definitely investigate your network settings further, especially as you are saying it resolved itself.

Is your router putting dual-band (5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz) on the same SSID (network name)? If so, and if it doesn’t do proper client steering, the FP2 could be trying to connect on the 5 Ghz when it needs to be on the 2.4Ghz. I can’t speak for Asus, but different systems do this differently, and not everyone gets it right.

I am not replacing the hub for this issue. I am replacing the hub for compatibility reasons. The problem has resolved itself, but integration with smartthings was an issue. I am replacing this hub to ensure compatibility, and to keep from having to use 2 (three if you include Wifi router) hubs.

Another possible issue with the hub setup may have been that I use a mesh wifi system. The sensor would be communicating to a different wifi node than the hub was wired into.
