Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into Home Assistant recently and while I’ve learned a lot from the community, I’m still exploring how to make the most out of this system. One thing I’m really interested in is tracking my water and electricity usage. I’d love to manually input the meter readings and have Home Assistant display the consumption over time. Does anyone know if this is possible? I’ve heard there might be some templates or integrations that could help with this.
A little background: My water and electricity meters are located in the basement, and since I live on the 10th floor, signal issues make it impossible to install any wireless sensors. So, manual input is the only option for me. I’ve seen some examples where people use custom sensors or scripts to handle this, but I’m not quite sure how to set it up.
If anyone has experience with this or knows of any resources, I’d really appreciate the help! I’m excited to start tracking my usage and hopefully find ways to be more efficient. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
