Hey everyone, I’m currently in the process of migrating from FHEM to Home Assistant, and I’ve hit a bit of a snag with my presence detection setup. I’ve been using BLE key fobs and the mobile app on our iPhones to automate presence tracking with ESPresense (esp32) and Device Trackers. It’s been working pretty smoothly, but there are those occasional hiccups—like when a key fob battery dies, the phone runs out of juice, or I just forget to bring the devices when I walk in the door.\In FHEM, I had these handy dummy switches that I could use to manually control the presence status of each person. They were super easy to access on the dashboard, and I could just toggle them if the automatic detection failed. Once everything was back online, the system would seamlessly switch back to normal mode.\Now, in Home Assistant, I’m not sure how to replicate this functionality. I know I can’t directly manipulate the status of a Device Tracker through the dashboard, but I’m curious if there’s a clever workaround or a different approach altogether. I’ve heard about using automations or maybe even custom scripts, but I’m not entirely sure how to get started.\Has anyone here figured out a way to manually override presence detection in Home Assistant? I’d love to hear your creative solutions or any experiences you’ve had with similar setups. Your insights would be a huge help!\Thanks in advance for your support!\Cheers, Christian
