Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent experiences with integrating Matter devices into my smart home setup. I’ve been using the HA-Matter-Hub Addon for a while now, and it’s been a game-changer for connecting my Matter devices to Google Home. However, I’ve noticed that if the Wi-Fi connection drops, Google Home loses its connection to the integrated devices. After some research, I found that restarting the Matter-Hub-Addon in Home Assistant usually fixes the issue. It’s a bit of a workaround, but it’s reliable for now. I’m hopeful that as the Addon moves out of Beta, these connection issues will be resolved.
On another note, I’ve been exploring options to replace my old two-wire, dumb, heat-only thermostats with something smarter. The existing setup controls a whole-house radiant-floor heating system, and I’d love to integrate these thermostats into my openHAB setup. I’ve come across the Fast-Stat Common Maker, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s the best fit for my needs. I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with similar setups or recommendations for cost-effective smart thermostats that can work with my current system.
Overall, I’m really impressed with how Matter has enhanced my smart home experience, and I’m eager to dive deeper into optimizing my setup. If anyone has tips or tricks for maintaining stable connections or suggestions for smart thermostat solutions, I’d be grateful for the input! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out on this smart home journey. ![]()
