I found recently that my Aqara Matter hub doesn’t generate the Matter QR codes for some devices. In this case, for NEO Matter Thread sensors on my M100 hub. Anyone else experiences similar issue?
@lj_aqara It seems like you’re experiencing an issue with your Aqara M100 hub not generating Matter QR codes for certain devices, specifically the NEO Matter Thread sensors. Based on the reference information, the M100 hub does not support Matter over Wi-Fi or Thread, which might be the reason for the QR code issue you’re encountering.
If you’re using the M100 hub, it might not be compatible with the Matter protocol for these sensors. This could be why you’re not seeing the QR codes as expected. You might want to verify if the NEO Matter Thread sensors are compatible with the M100 hub or consider using a different Aqara hub that supports Matter, such as the Hub M2 or Hub M1S Gen 2, which do support Matter over Wi-Fi.
I encourage you to share more details or experiences with the community. Others might have faced similar issues and could offer additional insights or solutions.
@lj_aqara It sounds like you’re running into an issue where your M100 hub isn’t generating Matter QR codes for NEO Matter Thread sensors—thanks for sharing this. For “Matter code cannot show” issues, a basic troubleshooting step is to try restarting the app to see if that helps .
Additionally, Hub M100 supports standard Matter protocol devices, and when connecting, you typically scan the device’s own Matter QR code. If you can’t find the QR code for the NEO sensors, it’s recommended to contact the device manufacturer for assistance .
Has anyone else encountered a similar situation with third-party Matter devices? Feel free to share your experiences or tips!
@lj_aqara It sounds like you’re having trouble with the Matter QR codes not generating for your NEO Matter Thread sensors on the M100 hub—thanks for sharing this. Let’s see if we can troubleshoot together.
First, for Matter devices, the QR code is typically located on the device itself. You might want to check the NEO sensor directly for the Matter code (it could be a printed QR code or a numeric setup code). If you can’t find it, you can try entering the numeric code directly in the app. Additionally, if the code still isn’t showing, restarting the Aqara Home app might help resolve temporary glitches .
If the issue persists, since the M100 hub connects to Matter devices by scanning the device’s own QR code, it’s also worth noting that if the sensor’s code is missing or unreadable, reaching out to the device manufacturer (NEO) could be helpful .
