Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of Matter and seasonal device management, and I thought I’d share some insights and tips I’ve picked up along the way. ![]()
First off, if you’re working with Matter Server and Docker HA, you might have encountered the issue of changing the IP address. I stumbled upon this too and found that the IP isn’t exposed in the GUI or config files. After some digging, I discovered it’s stored deep in config/.storage/core.config_entries. Manually updating it there worked for me, but I wonder if there’s a more streamlined way to handle this. If anyone has insights or suggestions, I’d love to hear them! ![]()
Now, moving on to seasonal devices—like Christmas lights or outdoor switches. I’ve been struggling with how to manage these without causing issues in my app. Every time I add or move a device, it messes with the location settings, and the repair process gets hung up on all the seasonal devices that aren’t plugged in. I’ve tried a few workarounds, like temporarily disabling or hiding these devices, but nothing seems to stick. Has anyone found a solution or a better way to handle this? ![]()
I’d also love to hear about your experiences with Matter Server configuration and seasonal device management. Have you encountered similar issues? How did you resolve them? Let’s brainstorm and share our tips! ![]()
