Maximizing Outdoor Lighting with Smart Automation

I’ve been experimenting with my outdoor lighting setup and wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice! :star2:

I recently set up three Hue lights at the front of my house using the SmartThings app. They’re programmed to come on at dusk at 50% brightness and turn off at dawn. It’s been a great way to keep the front of my house illuminated without being too harsh. However, I’d love to take it a step further. I want these lights to automatically boost to 100% brightness when motion is detected, using a PIR sensor. Does anyone know if this is achievable? I’ve tried a few things but haven’t had much luck yet. Any tips or advice would be fantastic! :hugs:

On another note, I’ve been exploring the new Outdoor Light box from Govee. It’s been a fun project, especially since I’ve been trying to create my own DIY light effects instead of using the preset scenes. I’ve got some neon rope lights, string lights, and LED strips that I want to sync together with my own music playlist for Halloween. The challenge is figuring out how to make them autoplay without relying on the preset modes. If anyone has experience with custom DIY effects or syncing lights with music, I’d love to hear your tricks! :+1:

Lastly, I’ve been inspired by the gaming light bars and party kits mentioned in recent posts. They really push the envelope for creative lighting setups. I’d love to see more ideas on how to integrate these kinds of effects into everyday outdoor lighting without it feeling too overwhelming. Are there any subtle ways to incorporate dynamic lighting that still makes a statement? :star2:

If anyone has tips, tricks, or success stories on outdoor lighting automation or DIY effects, I’d be thrilled to hear them! Let’s keep the creativity flowing! :bulb::sparkles:
