Hey everyone, I’ve been experimenting with improving the Z-Wave range in my setup, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice. I’ve got a Vera Edge controller, and while most of my devices work well, I’ve been struggling with a remote sensor in an adjacent building. It’s only reliable if I open a window, which isn’t ideal in the winter!
I tried using a Z-Wave extender, but it didn’t make much of a difference. I’ve also considered mounting the extender outside, but I’m not sure how effective that would be. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup? I’d love to hear what worked for you!
One thing I’ve noticed is that the range varies depending on the device. I’m curious if there are specific Z-Wave devices known for better range that I could try. I’ve heard good things about some models, but I’m not sure which ones would be best for my situation.
