Migrating Devices and Maintaining Automation Flows

Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to share my experience and seek some guidance regarding the recent changes in our smart home ecosystem. As many of you might be aware, the shutdown of the Groovy IDE has been postponed to December 31st, which gives us a bit more time to adapt. However, I’m still navigating the migration process and have a few questions and observations to share.

First off, I’ve noticed that some of my devices, particularly my Ecobee thermostats and Ecolink Z-Wave sensors, haven’t been automatically migrated to the Edge drivers. I’m curious to know if there’s anything I need to do on my end or if this is something that will happen seamlessly. Additionally, I’m using Fully Kiosk Browser on my wall-mounted tablets, and I’m wondering if there’s an Edge driver in the works for that. It would be fantastic to continue using this setup without any hiccups.

On the automation front, I rely heavily on Webcore pistons for scheduling tasks, such as running actions between specific times. With the shutdown looming, I’m concerned about how this will affect my current setup. Will Webcore pistons still be compatible, or will I need to rebuild these automations from scratch? If the latter is the case, I’d appreciate any tips or resources that could make this transition smoother.

One bright spot has been the support from the community. I’ve come across some really helpful discussions and guides that have made the migration process less daunting. For instance, seeing how others have successfully integrated their devices and maintained their automation flows has been incredibly reassuring.

If anyone has insights or experiences to share regarding these topics, I’d be grateful to hear them. Whether it’s about device migration, automation setup, or maintaining functionality post-migration, your input would be invaluable. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate these changes smoothly!

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. Happy automating!
