Migrating from SmartThings and Hue to Hubitat: A Seamless Experience!

Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to share my recent journey of migrating from SmartThings and Hue to Hubitat. It’s been an exciting process, and I wanted to document my experience in case others are considering a similar move. :rocket:

I started with a mix of devices: 2x Lifx light bulbs, 5x Hue bulbs, 1x Hue Bridge, 2x Zigbee light bulbs, 10x Samsung Smartthings multi-purpose sensors, and 5x Samsung Smartthings motion sensors. The goal was to consolidate everything under Hubitat for better integration and control. :hammer_and_wrench:

The first step was a bit daunting—removing all devices from their current hubs. But I’m happy to say that Hubitat’s discovery process was smooth and efficient. Within minutes, all my devices were recognized and set up without any issues. :+1:

One thing I particularly appreciate is Hubitat’s flexibility. I’ve been able to customize routines and automations in ways that weren’t as seamless with my previous setup. For example, I now have a morning routine that not only turns on my lights but also adjusts the thermostat and plays my favorite playlist—all with just one tap. :headphones::sparkles:

If anyone else is thinking about making the switch, I’d highly recommend starting with a clean slate and letting Hubitat handle the discovery. It’s definitely worth the effort for the enhanced functionality and peace of mind. :star2:

Let me know if you have any questions or tips for others looking to migrate! Happy automating! :rocket:
