Hello everyone, I’m embarking on a new adventure by migrating my Wink setup to Hubitat. After years with Wink, I’m excited to explore the Hubitat ecosystem, but I must admit, the process feels a bit overwhelming. I’ve been using Wink Hub 1 since its launch and have built a mix of Z-Wave and Zigbee devices. Now, with Wink Hub 2, I’m ready to take the plunge into Hubitat, but I need some guidance, especially regarding exclusion and inclusion processes. I’ve gone through the migration docs, but I’m still a bit fuzzy on the exact steps. Let me lay out my understanding and see if anyone can confirm or clarify:
For Zigbee Devices:
- Remove the device from the Wink app.
- Factory reset the device.
- Add it to Hubitat.
- Any additional steps I should consider?
For Z-Wave Devices:
- Exclude the device in the Wink app. Should I do this one by one or put the hub into exclusion mode?
- Factory reset the device.
- Use inclusion mode in Hubitat.
- Add the device to Hubitat.
- Any follow-up actions?
I’ve missed the simplicity of Stringify flows, and this transition feels like a fresh challenge. I’m determined to make this work without causing any household disturbances, especially since my wife has her own opinions about the timing of this project. Any tips or insights would be invaluable!
