Migrating Hue Lights: A Smooth Transition Guide

Hi all, I’ve been diving into a home remodeling project, and it’s been a fantastic opportunity to revamp my Hue lighting setup. I currently have about 25 Hue lights installed, and I’ve taken the time to plan a new layout that I’m really excited about. One of the key changes I made was ensuring all lights have power on and replacing traditional switches with smart buttons, which I magnetized after the build. It’s been a lot of work, but seeing the results is truly rewarding!

Now, here’s where I hit a snag. I didn’t keep track of which bulb went where, and I’ve also upgraded to a new Hue Bridge Pro. I’m wondering if migrating the bridge and lights is the best approach or if starting fresh with the new bridge would be simpler. From what I understand, the Hue app should help identify where each light belongs, but I’m not entirely sure. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s gone through a similar process—what worked for you? Did you find the migration smooth, or was starting fresh easier? I really want to get this right, so any advice would be invaluable!

If anyone has tips on organizing the migration or ensuring a seamless transition, I’m all ears. It’s a bit overwhelming, but I’m determined to make it work. Thanks in advance for your help!
