Migrating Node-RED Lighting Automation to Native Solutions and Govee LED Integration

I’ve been on a journey to optimize my home’s lighting automation, and I wanted to share my experiences and insights with the community. After experimenting with various methods, I settled on using Node-RED to create two flows that balance functionality, energy efficiency, and user satisfaction. However, with the advancements in native automations, I’m curious to explore if these complex flows can now be achieved without Node-RED.

My current setup involves an intricate automation for turning lights on. It triggers on motion, identifies the area, selects lights with specific labels, avoids conflicts with manual controls, calculates brightness based on system modes, and adjusts accordingly. While this works well, I’m eager to simplify and leverage native features if possible.

In addition to this, I’ve recently integrated Govee LED lights into my setup, and I’m thrilled with their performance. The mini-LED string lights I installed in a shoebox for my wife’s bouquet were a hit, and they’ve added a festive touch to our home. However, I’ve encountered a minor issue with the Shelly Duo bulb where the temperature control doesn’t show up as an entity, though brightness does. I’d appreciate any insights on resolving this.

I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully migrated from Node-RED to native automations. What challenges did you face? What tips can you share? Also, if anyone has experience with Govee products, especially regarding customization and integration, I’d be grateful for your advice.

This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I’m excited to continue exploring and optimizing my smart home setup. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other achieve our smart home goals!
