Migrating to HA and Enhancing My Smart Home Setup

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation and wanted to share my experiences and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. First off, I’m in the process of migrating from Fibaro to Home Assistant (HA). While it’s been a bit of a learning curve, I’m really excited about the possibilities HA offers. Right now, both my Fibaro controller and HA are running side by side, which has been helpful for testing and ensuring everything works smoothly. However, I’ve noticed some strange behavior with the Z-Wave routing in HA, particularly with slower response times and occasional unexpected routing. I’m curious if this could be due to interference between the two Z-Wave signals from both systems. Has anyone else experienced something similar or have any advice on how to mitigate this?

On a more positive note, I’ve been experimenting with some fun DIY projects to enhance my home’s ambiance. Last weekend, I came across an idea on Facebook where someone used Govee spiral Christmas trees to create a stunning light display. Inspired by that, I decided to give it a try myself. I stripped the lights from the spiral trees and replaced them with Govee LED strips, and the results have been absolutely magical! The colors are vibrant, and the flexibility of the spirals allows for so many creative setups. I’m truly in love with how it turned out and can’t wait to try more Govee projects in the future! :star2:

Another area I’ve been exploring is setting up automated scenes using Node-RED. My girlfriend loves meditating at night, so I created a calming light sequence that transitions between dark blue and orange hues. It’s been a great way to unwind before bed. The setup involves using Alexa to trigger the scene, which then dims the lights and plays soothing ambient sounds. The loop continues until she asks Alexa to turn it off, at which point everything resets to normal. It’s been a fun project that’s also added a personal touch to our smart home setup. :person_in_lotus_position::male_sign:

I’d love to hear from others who have tackled similar projects or have tips on optimizing Z-Wave performance. The community here has been fantastic, and I’m grateful for all the support and resources available. Happy automating! :rocket:
