Hi everyone, I’m in the process of migrating my Concord 4 hybrid security system to SuretyDIY and Alarm.com. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m excited about the potential benefits. Here are a few questions and observations I’ve had along the way:
-
Software Version: I’ve been trying to figure out the exact software version of my current system. I’ve taken some photos of the control panel, but I’m not entirely sure how to extract the version information. Any tips would be appreciated!
-
Communication Module: I’m currently using a landline for communication, but I want to switch to a cellular module for better reliability. I’ve come across the 600-1053-4-ZX-VZ Verizon CDMA module, but I’m wondering if the LTE version (600-1053-LTE-VZ) would be a better investment for future-proofing. What are your thoughts on the benefits of LTE over 3G?
-
Zoning Information: One of my main concerns is whether all my current sensors and zone setups will be preserved during the migration. I’ve put a lot of time into configuring my system, so it would be frustrating to lose that information.
-
Access Credentials: I only know the user code for arming and disarming the system, not the installer or master codes. I’m hoping this won’t be a major issue during the transition. If anyone has experience with this, please share your insights!
-
Migration Process: I’d like to minimize downtime as much as possible. Should I set up a SuretyDIY plan before canceling my current alarm contract? Also, if I don’t have a cellular module yet, can SuretyDIY take over the system once I disconnect the landline and install the new module?
-
Monitoring Service: I’m curious about the monitoring service SuretyDIY provides. Is it handled in-house or outsourced? Are there any guarantees or SLAs in place?
I’ve also been exploring some other features, like integrating temperature sensors for monitoring my garage freezers. It would be great to have all this information consolidated in my home automation system. If anyone has tips on setting up temperature monitoring, I’d love to hear them!
Overall, I’m feeling optimistic about this migration, but it’s definitely a bit overwhelming. I’m grateful for the wealth of information and support available in this community. Thanks in advance for any guidance or advice you can offer!
