Modulation Capability in Tado Starter Kit

Hi all, I just had a new boiler installed and decided to go with a Tado starter kit to control my heating and hot water. I was really excited about the modulation feature, as I’ve heard it can make heating more efficient. However, after doing some research, I’m a bit confused about where the modulation actually happens in the kit. From what I understand, modulation is supposed to adjust the boiler’s output based on the temperature outside, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s the thermostat or the receiver that handles this.

I reached out to Tado support, and they mentioned that modulation isn’t available in the standard kit but can be added with the EU version receiver. However, they only had it in white, and I really wanted to keep my black thermostat. So, my question is: does the modulation happen in the receiver or the thermostat? If it’s the receiver, maybe I can just switch that out without changing the thermostat. Any insights or experiences would be really helpful! I’m hoping to find a solution that keeps everything looking cohesive in my home. Thanks in advance for your advice!
