Hi there.i am new here and I thought to make an thread regarding the Aqara Camera G3 witch is an awesome device to have on your home not just for security camera but for all the features that have.now regarding a great feature that this camera have I will like to point out that the gesture feature is a bit poor you can only use 5 gestures witch is an bummer if you have more devices witch could be controlled by gestures.i send an email to Aqara support regarding this feature and ask them to add more gestures or at least an custom gesture option were we can store our own gestures and would be also nice that this option will work with others features of the G3.as of now if you enable gestures some of the features will be automatically set to off.ether way it will be nice to have an custom gesture feature and we could store our own gestures into the G3 camera.my be an developer from Aqara will see this post and we my see this feature added with feature updates
Hi @coccolino_26 ! The gesture feature is a nice option to have ! But it’s not super accurate as you maybe realized by yourself already…
As far as I can remember the Beta test for G3 it was difficult to get these 5 gestures work properly!
So more gestures- so more problems and less accuracy
No so sure I use 2 gestures from the 5 and works perfectly no issue there.my be when was released they had issues but as of now for me works perfectly
Great it works for you perfect! But why you need more? You just said that the two are working- so 3 more left!
And more gestures will bring maybe more problems and or with confusability
Because I am planing buying a few more devices and I have 3 in use from 5 my mistake but one is an square blank so I have no idea what that means so I only have left 1 gesture more but I want to have my own gestures not what aqara chose for as
So you want to create custom gestures. You said you raised it with Aqara support. Did they give you an answer?
I don’t think, that you can create custom gestures…. But as far as I know , you have more options with the new G350 cam which will be released soon
So maybe @coccolino_26 wait till release and maybe that cam fulfills your desires 
Well they told me that will deliver my petition to the developers but so far nothing and the G3 got 2 updates since then
From what I saw on YouTube the only thing that brings new the G350 are the 4k resolution with zoom and 2 cameras instead of one but will see
The G350 will have more options with gestures… so stay tuned
Yeah but still why would I need another camera since I have the G3 witch for me and my needs it is just fine the only thing to make it even better for me are those custom gestures and I will be more then happy.
Totally understand and agree. Hopefully Aqara will continue to provide new features on the G3. If you get a follow up answer from support please share here.
I don’t think that Aqara will implement new features to a device which will get replaced by a newer model ! The G3 was released in November 2021… and everyone should know how fast Smart home devices change !
Still the G3 already support gesture so it is not something new that they need to add is just an new addiction to the already existent feature but will see I hope they will add it

I probably agree, though I have a different mindset. Of course new products will get released, but consumers should not be expected to update every few years, especially when something is getting installed in their home. The smart home industry can be short-sighted this way.
More if works why change it I live in an apartment witch is not to big and for my needs the G3 as of now is more then enough beside all my smart devices I have on the hole my apartment and I still need a few to complete it that is why custom gestures will get in handy to control more devices with just gestures on my salon without the need to tell Siri or take my iPhone to control something
