Hey fellow Aqara fans! I’ve been tinkering with my motion sensors lately and stumbled upon some seriously handy setups that make life easier. Thought I’d share a few of my favorites—maybe they’ll spark some ideas for you too!
First up: the “No More Midnight Stumbling” hack. I placed a sensor in the hallway leading to the bathroom. Now, when it detects movement at night, my Aqara bulb turns on at 10% brightness—just enough light to navigate without blinding myself. Game-changer for those 3AM trips!
Another winner: “Coffee Ready When You Are”. Sensor in the kitchen doorway triggers my smart plug to fire up the coffee maker as soon as I walk in bleary-eyed each morning. No more waiting—just instant caffeine salvation.
And my personal favorite? “Laundry Guardian”. Sensor in the laundry room sends a notification if there’s movement for more than 5 minutes (aka I forgot the wet clothes in the washer again).
Anyone else got clever motion sensor tricks? Would love to hear how you’re using yours!
(Pro tip for renters: These all work without permanent modifications—just sticky tape and creativity!)
