Motion Sensor Distance Limitations and Solutions

I recently installed a new motion sensor in my walk-in closet to automate the lighting system. Initially, it worked perfectly for about two weeks, but then it stopped responding reliably. I reset the sensor multiple times, but it either got stuck in ‘motion’ or ‘no motion’ mode. After contacting customer support, I learned that the sensor’s performance might be affected by its distance from the hub, which was beyond the recommended 40 feet. The sensor uses an ‘unamplified’ signal to comply with UK specifications, which might explain the inconsistency. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:- Resetting the sensor: I reset it three times, hoping it would reconnect properly.- Checking battery life: The battery was at 88%, so it wasn’t a low battery issue.- Monitoring temperature: The sensor’s temperature readings were consistent, indicating it was functioning to some extent.Despite these efforts, the sensor’s reliability remained inconsistent. I’m curious to know if others have experienced similar issues with the new motion sensors and how they’ve resolved them. Have you managed to extend the effective range beyond the specified limit? What troubleshooting steps did you take that were successful? If anyone has insights or tips on optimizing the sensor’s performance or improving its connection stability, I’d greatly appreciate your advice. Let’s collaborate to find a solution that ensures reliable operation of these sensors in our smart homes!
