Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts, I’m reaching out to you today with a bit of a puzzle. I’ve noticed that my kitchen lights, which are controlled by a motion sensor, aren’t turning off as they should. It’s a bit of a nuisance, especially when I go to bed at 11 PM and find the lights still on when I wake up at 3 AM. My daughter mentioned it too when she came downstairs early this morning, so I decided it was time to dig into this issue.
I’ve been using the Hubitat app to manage my lights, and while it’s been working well in general, this particular problem has me scratching my head. I checked the logs, and it seems like the kitchen switch didn’t turn off as expected. I’m not entirely sure how to interpret the logs fully, but I can see that there’s some activity that doesn’t match what I’d expect.
I’ve tried a few things already. I’ve ensured that the motion sensor isn’t picking up any false signals, like from nearby electronics or pets. I’ve also double-checked the settings in the app to make sure everything is configured correctly. Maybe it’s a sensitivity issue, or perhaps there’s a wiring problem I’m not aware of. I’m not an expert, so I’m hoping someone here can shed some light on this.
If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has some troubleshooting tips, I’d be incredibly grateful. I’m really looking forward to getting this sorted out so I can have a bit more peace of mind at night. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
