Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to the community for some guidance on an issue I’m experiencing with my Nuki SmartLock Ultra. I’ve been using MQTT to connect my smart devices, and while most of them work seamlessly, the Nuki lock has been a bit of a puzzle for me.
Here’s the situation: When I first connect the lock via MQTT, it works perfectly. The front door locks as a confirmation, which is a nice touch. However, the problem arises when the lock reconnects to my MQTT server after a brief interruption. Every time this happens, the door locks again automatically, which is not the intended behavior. I understand that the lock is confirming the connection, but it’s inconvenient to have the door lock unexpectedly after a short power outage or network glitch.
I’ve reached out to Nuki customer service, and while they’ve been helpful, I’m still hoping the community might have some insights or workarounds. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a way to disable this automatic locking confirmation upon reconnection? I’d love to hear if others have found solutions or if there are settings I might have missed.
In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out if there’s a configuration tweak or a feature within MQTT that could prevent this from happening. I’m also considering whether a firmware update might address the issue, but I haven’t found any information on that yet.
Any advice or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated! Let’s see if we can crack this together. Thanks in advance for your help!
