Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of MQTT for my ESP32 projects, and honestly, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I’ve got a Raspberry Pi 4 set up on my network, and while I’ve gone through the tutorials, I’m still getting lost in the setup process. Specifically, I’m trying to get Mosquitto up and running, but I’m hitting walls every step of the way. Has anyone else had similar struggles? How did you overcome them? I’d love to hear your tips or any resources that made this process clearer for you.
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating multiple smart devices from different brands into a cohesive system. It’s been a learning experience, to say the least! For instance, I recently set up a three-way switch using a WD500Z-1 and a WT00Z-1. While the system works most of the time, there’s this persistent issue where the indicator lights on the switches don’t always stay in sync. When I toggle the lights via the WT00Z-1, both switches update correctly, but when I use the WD500Z-1, the WT00Z-1’s light sometimes stays on when it should be off. It’s a minor annoyance, but it’s driving me a bit crazy. I’m currently on firmware version 7.10. Has anyone else encountered this behavior, or do you know of any fixes?
Lastly, I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on. I’ve been using MQTT to control a series of RGB lights in my living room, and it’s been a fantastic way to experiment with different lighting scenarios. I’d love to hear if anyone else has creative uses for MQTT in their setups! Let’s keep the ideas flowing. Thanks for your help and insights!
