As a homeowner with a multi-level house, I’ve always been excited about the idea of a robot vacuum that can handle multiple floors seamlessly. I recently purchased a Wyze Robot Vacuum, partly because it advertised support for multi-floor navigation. While the feature is still in beta, I wanted to share my experiences and tips for anyone else looking to optimize their multi-floor setup.
Challenges Faced:
When I first set up the vacuum, I quickly realized that manually transporting it between floors and re-mapping each time was time-consuming and inefficient. The vacuum often struggled to find the charger after completing a map, leading to wasted battery life and frequent rescues.
Workarounds and Tips:
- Manual Transportation: I’ve been carrying the vacuum to each floor and manually initiating cleaning sessions. While not ideal, it’s a practical solution until multi-floor navigation becomes more seamless.
- Charging Management: To avoid the vacuum getting stuck searching for the charger, I’ve been using a second charger on the upper floors. This significantly reduces the time it spends searching and increases overall efficiency.
- Scheduled Cleaning: Setting up separate cleaning schedules for each floor has been a lifesaver. I use the Wyze app to schedule cleaning sessions for each floor at different times, ensuring consistent coverage without manual intervention.
Future Hopes:
I’m hopeful that future updates will improve multi-floor navigation, allowing the vacuum to transition between floors more effectively. A feature that allows saving multiple maps and switching between them effortlessly would be a game-changer.
If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing multi-floor vacuuming, I’d love to hear them! Let’s share our experiences and make the most of our smart home devices. ![]()
