Multi-Sensor Support Now Available on Aqara Thermostat Hub W200

Hi there! Since the launch of the W200, we’ve received many requests for multi-sensor support. After a few weeks of work, we’re happy to announce that it’s finally here!
You can now enable it by updating to firmware version 4.5.48 and then following the steps below:

(The latest firmware has not been rolled out to everyone yet - you’re expected to receive it within the next 7 days.)

  1. Open the W200 device page in the Aqara App, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner, and enter Data Source Settings.

  2. Select the manually configured temperature option, then go to Linked Sensors.

  3. Tap Create in the Select Soft Temperature Sensor module and click Next.

  4. Select multiple sensors you need to use, then choose to apply either the average value or extreme value for data calculation.

  5. Select a hub (the default recommended option is preferred) to complete the setup.


If you need to rename this soft sensor, search for Virtual Sensor in the Aqara App device list. It will be displayed as an independent virtual device that supports custom naming.

In addition, more Aqara devices will add compatibility with this virtual sensor function in the future. This feature also allows you to add third-party Matter sensors for unified use. It effectively avoids the issue of sensor incompatibility and scrapping caused by purchasing sensors from different brands.Note: Third-party Matter sensors need to be added to the Aqara App in advance via a Matter bridge before they can be used.)

Is there any update on when we’ll be able to change the minimum temperature difference between heating and cooling while using Auto Mode? The current 5°F minimum is way too large and basically makes Auto Mode unusable for me. I really need the option to bring it down to a 2°F difference. I used to keep my Ecobee set to 72–74°F in Auto Mode, and that worked perfectly.

Do you need an actual hub, not just a thermostat hub? I tried to create a soft sensor and it says it can’t find a supported execution device.

The W200 itself is a hub. You can try adding the temperature and humidity sensor as a sub-device of the W200.

In subsequent versions, we will reduce the range of Auto Mode.Meanwhile, the minimum dead zone for our Auto Mode is 3°F; setting it to 2°F will cause cooling and heating conflict.

@XT-XianTang I flagged this in the beta Slack channel for you, but when you have “follow scene” checked and set up in the new .48 build, and go back to the Aqara app homescreen or close the Aqara app and go back into check it, “manual setting” is checked by default. The “follow scene” setting is not sticking and seems to be a bug.

It seems a bit strange. We just tried but couldn’t reproduce the issue. Alternatively, let’s discuss it on Slack, and we may need your help to capture the device logs.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We have tested on multiple devices and found the same issue occurs on another unit. The APP will be optimized as soon as possible.

Im eagerly waiting for the update!! I know you said a few days but can i get a special exception PLEEEEEEEEAS?! I’m super excited to try this out! It will give me a huge amount of spousal points (which I need after switching most automations to HA that hasn’t been the smoothest! :grimacing:)
