MULTIPLE AQARA HUBS USING ONE APP?

Hi there. I need to set up an AQARA Set up at my elderly mums house. Can I just add them to my app even though different location?

If it’s a brand new, unpaired hub, then you need to be physically close to the hub to pair it. This prevents a situation when a hacker “hijacks” the hub through the internet.

Before pairing the hub, create a new home in Aqara app (to make it separate from your devices)

On the main screen, click the list in the top left → Home Management → +

The home (with all devices) can be shared to other users (your mom, for example). The other users can be also the admins of the home.

If you create the home, switch to it on the home screen before pairing the hub.

You can invite a user to be an admin of the home by selecting a home in the Home Management and then selecting “Invite new members”.

Btw if you have cameras or presence sensors, then those have separate access control. After inviting the user, open their profile and permit the user to use cameras using this option:

Also make sure your mom have a stable connection on the internet so the devices can run well without issues and you and your mom can access them without problems from.

Yes you can. Indeed, under Home Management in the Aqara App you can create another home, and you can give access to whom so ever you want in that 2nd home.

I do it as I have a flat that I rent out. I need overall control, but the renters also get to control the lock on the flat too.

Hi there. I have do exactly this for my parents. Both are getting older and my father is disabled. Hopefully this will help, I’ll tell you how I set up their home.

I started by getting all the devices I thought would be essential for them. This included the M3 hub, lighting, blind controls, light switched, presence sensors and all the rest of it.

The setup.

At my parents house, I went into the app, go to the profile section in the bottom right. Click on your home at the top. There is a plus button at the top right. This will allow you to set up a new home.

Before setting up any devices in this new home, get your parents to (or you do it for them) set up an Aqara account. Send them an invite to join the home. As my dad has a habit of tinkering with things he doesn’t understand, I set him as a general user rather than an admin.

Now that part is done, you can go ahead and start setting up and installing devices in the new home.

Once the new home is set up, on your app, you can switch between homes depending on where you need to control devices.

If you need more help, please don’t hesitate to get back to us on the forum.

Hope you have an amazing day
